Polkadot Africa Meetup Initiative

Before organizing a meetup, read all the information on this page in all subcategories. There are rules you must follow, and not following them might result in your proposal being rejected.

Polkadot Africa would like to see more small organic meetups that contribute to growth, specific initiative and education of community members.

Whether you are a first time meetup organiser or an existing community member who would like to host a meetup/event, Polkadot Africa can assist in the following ways:

  1. Drafting a proposal and budget
  2. Linking local experts in case a technical person is required
  3. Resources and branding requirements as specified by Polkadot Community
  4. Publicizing the event and marketing through our X, Discord, and Luma Page

We are collaborating closely with Polkadot Meetups Bounty to allow members from our community to host various types of meetups.

Get pre-approved, organize your meetup & submit a report AFTER the meetup happens to get reimbursed.

Types of meetups we are encouraging:

  1. First-time organizers or casual meetups (recommended budget up to $150)
  2. Regular meetups (recommended budget $300-$500); however, this can go up to $1000 depending on needs and number of people.

Polkadot Africa encourages all members organizing small meetups to follow the Meetup Bounty and **Guidelines & Resources below**. Please note that these contain the essential conditions that must be met for your event to qualify for support.

Don't hesitate to contact us through our Discord channels if you are curious whether your proposal will pass.

⚠️ Only active members of the ecosystem can organize meetups however first time organizers/cross-chain ambassadors who don't meet the required criteria are encouraged to start with a casual meetup and an initial budget that does not exceed $150. Remember, Polkadot Africa is here to support you at every step of the way, from learning and growth to organizing your meetup. Feel free to reach out to us anytime for assistance through our Discord
